First Things First has teamed with the Arizona Association for the Education of Young Children (AzAEYC) to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Week of the Young Child, which highlights the importance of early learning and the educators who support the positive development of young children.
The week is hosted by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). This year, the week falls on April 10-16 and is filled with hands-on, collaborative activities encouraging movement and healthy lifestyles through music, food and art.
The celebration is designed to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.
Please watch the video below as FTF public information officer Ofelia Gonzalez speaks with AzAEYC Vice President of Advocacy Kamaie Clark about the week, how families can support quality early learning experiences and how her organization is advancing equity within the early childhood ranks.
